Regarding the Myth/Truth about credit cards being used to rent cars, while it is factually correct that car rental agencies accept debit cards and you can use a debit card (with Visa/Mastercard logo) to rent a car, the process of actually reserving and renting the car is far from being universally true-or easy. Some agencies require you to produce utility bills and paystubs and others require you to submit to a credit check (so you'll be providing your SSN) just to drive away with a car. Others require you to purchase additional insurance and some will charge you a deposit of $300 to $500, which they hold for a week or more *after* you return the car.

Although I agree with Ramsey in regard to using debt, if you travel a lot or plan on using rental cars (and there may be other things in life) it may be best to keep a credit card for those uses and then excersise self control and only use it for that. You can reserve the car with an actual credit card and then pay for it with your debit card when you return it.

The course costs about $100 which includes all the materials - and the class. You can take the class as many times as you want for the one fee.

Curious to know more about the organization, how many various services and guides are offered and costs thereof. Also just how is this work 'biblically based'? What is Dave Ramsey's background and how is this ministry financially supported? SW

I liked Myths part most. So true...
"getting and staying out of debt is the #1 key to building wealth" - it's a principle that most of people I know and whom I consider intelligent follow.
