A new free software package daily: http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/

If there's a catch, I haven't found it yet, and lately some of the software has been really useful. I downloaded and installed one package so far, and it did exactly what it said it would and contained no detectable malware.

You have to be patient for a title you want to pop up, and you have to install the package on the same day or the license expires.

I'm not affiliated with them, just a happy (and thrifty!) user.

The CNet.com Web site has been very helpful to me when I search for free software.

Because I'm a solo business owner, I tend to run with the rebels who go against the grain in every industry.

I find Version Tracker to be a reliable source for software information, too (including freeware).
